I became involved in volunteering to gain experience whilst looking for work and because I wanted to give something back to my local community. My work involves childcare – keeping children safe, encouraging them to participate in activities and observe them. I have been volunteering for 2 months and gained a lot of experience. My childcare experience is different from the other staff and so I can offer my support and advice. Also my culture and beliefs are different to other staff members, which helps the children to gain more experience and knowledge of other cultures.
